The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) upheld complaints against 38 out of 70 advertisements. The Consumer Complaint Council (CCC) found the following claims in various categories advertisers to be either misleading or false or not adequately / scientifically substantiated and hence violating ASCI’s Code.
Out of 38 advertisements against which complaints were upheld, 19 belonged to the Healthcare category including Ayurwin Pharmaceutical’s Nutrigain, Chaturbhuj Pharma, Sanjeevani Netralaya Retina Care Centre, Shathayu Ayurveda etc.
In the telecommunication and broadband category there were 5 advertisements of the brands including Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Hike Messenger. There were also 4 in Personal Care category that includes Patanjali Ayurved, Keya’s Seth Ayurvedic Solution and Nature’s Essence.
Apart from these, 10 advertisements of various brands such as Vimal Pan Masala, Axis Bank Limited, Fedex Express Courier, Flipkart, Myntra, Bajaj Auto, Nissan Motor India, Lava International etc. were upheld.
