The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) upheld complaints against 42 out of 79 advertisements.
The Consumer Complaint Council (CCC) found the following claims in various categories advertisers to be either misleading or false or not adequately / scientifically substantiated and hence violating ASCI’s Code.
Out of 42 advertisements which complaints were upheld, 8 belonged to the Healthcare category including brands such as Life Cell International, Shathayu Ayurveda, Iqra Herbals, Baljiwan Medicines and Apollo Heart Centre.
In the Education category there were 9 advertisements were upheld of various brands such as Shyamli Institute of Hotel Management, Knowledge Station India, Triumphant Institute of Management Education, CL Educate and Mahendra Education.
7 advertisements in the E-commerce category of Seven Mantras, Snapdeal, Olx India, Koovs, Uber India and One MobiKwik were upheld. There were 3 advertisements were upheld from BhartiAirtelin Telecommunication and broadband category.
Apart from these 15 advertisements in others categories from various brands such as Tata Steel, Honda Cars, KFC Corporation, Colgate-Palmolive India, Times Broadcasting, British Broadcasting Corporation etc. were upheld.
